Blood test calculators
The numbers your pathology report leaves out, worked from the ones it prints. Australian units, with US units a toggle away. Signed in, every calculator fills itself from your latest results.
Free testosterone
Calculate free and bioavailable testosterone from total testosterone, SHBG and albumin using the Vermeulen equation, in nmol/L or ng/dL.
Open calculatorHOMA-IR
Calculate HOMA-IR and QUICKI from fasting glucose and fasting insulin to estimate insulin resistance, with mmol/L and mg/dL support.
Open calculatorCholesterol ratios
Calculate non-HDL cholesterol, total cholesterol to HDL ratio, triglyceride to HDL ratio and Friedewald LDL from a standard lipid panel.
Open calculatoreGFR
Estimate kidney function (eGFR) from creatinine, age and sex with the race-free CKD-EPI 2021 equation, in µmol/L or mg/dL.
Open calculatorCorrected calcium
Adjust total calcium for albumin to get corrected calcium, in mmol/L or mg/dL, with the standard 0.02 per g/L formula.
Open calculatorAST/ALT ratio
Calculate the AST to ALT (De Ritis) ratio and read what the pattern suggests: training, fatty liver, alcohol or viral hepatitis.
Open calculatorUnit converter
Convert blood test units between Australian SI and US conventional units: cholesterol, glucose, creatinine, testosterone, estradiol, vitamin D, haemoglobin and more.
Open calculatorWhy calculate these yourself?
Australian labs report what was ordered, in SI units, against a reference population that does not train, take nothing and is not on treatment. Several of the most useful numbers are simple arithmetic on what is already there: non-HDL from a lipid panel, free testosterone from total and SHBG, HOMA-IR from fasting glucose and insulin. These pages do that arithmetic, explain the result, and link to what to track next.
Upload a report to BloodTrack and the same calculations are added to every test automatically, trended over time and flagged against your own context.
